The pot is 32.5cm in height and 8.4cm in diameter. It is made of red clay.The motif on the jar is the typical Banshan phase: black and red spiral saw-tooth decoration. Thick black lines form the main parts of the spiral design, while thin red lines outline the saw-tooth pattern. Spiral design was originally discovered on painted pottery of Majiayao culture.
