《Pottery Dancing Horse》

The pottery horse is 42cm long, 18cm wide, and 40cm high. It was unearthed on the farmland on the North Mountain in Yuquan village.

Horse dance was a horse show. It originated in Wei, Jin and the Southern and Northern Dynasties (220-581AD). For the show, horses were trained to dance with the music. It was most welcomed in the Tang Dynasty. Dancing horse was seen as an auspicious symbol of prosperity of the Tang Dynasty. But horse dance gradually lost its popularity since the "Rebellion of An Lushan", which marked the decline of the Dynasty.
